Hey everyone,

I’m excited to share that with the release of Modular Workspaces 1.8, I’m now officially a collaborator on this awesome tool! The tool has been around for more than two years, and I’ve helped out before by working on the UI toggles, and now I’ll be contributing more regularly. Curtis Holt, who created the tool, as you might already know, is a well-known Blender artist, developer, and YouTuber, and I’m really excited to be working with him on this project.

What is Modular Workspaces?

Modular Workspaces for Blender is a combination of an addon and asset library file designed to speed up your startup workflow.

Some details about the tool:

Drag and drop pre-made collection assets from the asset browser into your scene, and with the press of a single button, Modular Workspaces will recenter, unpack and organize all of the imported assets into new collections, ready for you to start working.

Installing the addon will add a new tab in the 3D View sidebar. This tab will display a series of panels containing operations that will help you unpack and clean up content in your file.

In addition to this, extra buttons have been added to the Blender interface to make it easy to open and close the asset browser from the 3D view. Your favorite asset browser settings will apply automatically when opening the browser, providing you with a shortcut to access your favorite library content.

We have also included a pie menu to make it even easier to split the interface.
